Hi,
Just wandering what people put under their mattress in the van to allow some ventilation to prevent mold.

I have been looking around and it is fairly expensive.

We have a queen size bed, I haven't measured it yet put reckon we could be up for around 3m as it seems to come in 1m widths

One lot I looked at was called Hypervent but have been told some of the rubber walk way stuff which is interleaved will do.

Thanks in advance,
Richard

Hi Richard,

We put one of the froli sleep systems under our mattress in our camper - it has been terrific.

Froli system

Cheers,
Geoff

HI Geoff,
Looks interesting. Does it work like a set of springs?

We have a 50mm high density foam mattress with a layer of egg (?) foam over the top of that, but finding that it's getting a bit flat under the hip and shoulder area and not giving enough back support. In your experience would this system help?
How would you rate the comfort ?

Thanks for highlighting it as an option.
Any information would be appreciated.

Cheers
Alex B

I found a reference to this
http://www.empind.com.au/cat/index.cgi/shopfront/view_product_details?category_id=9960&product_id=302427

They sell it as one piece so better than the hypervent is some ways.

Not suggesting that the above solutions dont work, but if you want to try a budget
jobbie that works for us...shade cloth folded in two..doubled that is. A few drawing pins will keep it in place. We use it under a foam mattress in C/t & have had no issues
with dampness or mould.cheers.....oldbaz.

Oldbaz,
I have heard other people doing this successfully.

Will be plan B or even plan A when I mention the cost to you know who :)

Yep, this is the stuff we put in our T Van, cost aroun $180.00 but what is another $200.00 on top of the large outlay on a camper or caravan.
Does a great job.

We had a moisture problem under daughter's bunk so we went to Bunnings and got 5 of those cheap woven door mats at $2 a piece. Works a treat and dont move around but I suppose you'd need 10 for a queen size.
