A while ago Truckster mentioned a site for gaining weather info. Can't find it in the archives, if anyone knows that site or any other good weather site it would be much appreciated. Thanks

too right Ray, the Weatherzone mob get their data from the BOM people anyways and have their own meteorologists to interpret etc, they then turn the info into the best pictual weather info available in Oz I reckon. We use their Weatherzone "Gold" (read: we pay them $$) service wich updates the lightning maps etc every 10 mins or so to do some weather predicting for storms and the like. If you know what you're lookign at then its a great site.
Theres lots of info on weather on the net and a few hours spent reading up on what to look for etc is time
well spent.

Yeah, I must be a bit of a weather nut after spending most of today on weatherzone tracking the passage of the trough across Vic and watching the lightning tracker. The forums are quite interesting also. I was expecting a better storm than what we got.I may be mad but I'm not crazy

Thats sad Ray, very sad, you know I bet you didnt even save each of the lightning .jpg files, every 20-30 mins and then "stitch" them together so that you could see the way the storm developed and moved in an animated form...I just bet you didn't ....but I know a weather nut who did hahahaha Geoff I believe his name is, a,d sad doesnt even begin to describe his weathernuttedness.

Another ggod one is the ABC site, but we use 3 of them.
www.thefarmshed.com.au
www.abc.net.au
www.weatherchannel.com.au
These are the 3 we use, being in the country and in the local fire brigade, they are prettty accurate with their storm warnings, etc. It comes in handy to know what we are in for. Hope these help!

Try this US site for a 10 day Precipitation IndexWe use it for
farm planning too it can be wrong 10 days out of course but we use it for planning rainfall gaps and cropping and irrigation if the trend is dry.
Play around here a bit too and get moisture levels at various parts of the globe.
