Hi all new user here.
I have a Laptop running OziExplorer Software connecting to a Etrex GPS via a serial cable. The GPS interface is set to NMEA out and this works fine via Com1 of my Laptop. When I try and use the Magellan DiscoverAUS mapping software with the Etrex set to the same settings. DiscoverAus does not detect the GPS.
I may be wrong but I was under the opinion that NMEA was a standard protocol that should work between differing vendors. Is this true.
Could anyone tell me if a Garmin ETREX will work with the Magellan DiscoverAUS software. Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers Peter

Discoveraus will only work with Magellan receivers. I have it running on a magellan M eridian via a laptop and a remote monitor on the dash and it is great. But it has a severe lag problem if it is run only on the GPSR.

Ray - the lag problem can be overcome by ensuring that the regions that you draw and load up are around 15mb in size rather than the maximum allowed of 16mb.
