I am looking for a lighter caravan ( not pop top) with a shower/toilet or en suite.
Need to be under 2000kg loaded for my Nissan x Trail .
I do want to keep the current vehicle as it is so good on fuel ( diesel) with 6 ltr per hundred unloaded and 10 ltrs per hundred with our current van on 1164kg.
Like the look and price of the Diamond Gem.

HI John,

I do not know anything about the Diamond Gem but my suggestion is to also have a look at the Gemhunter Custom Caravan range of light weight vans. My BIL is looking for a light weight van as he has also a low towing capacity with his 4X4. He is a retired tradie and was very impressed with Gemhunter and their construction method of fibrelass/foam sandwich panels. They are a Queensland company if you are in this area to inspect first hand.
I have no association with company - just giving you another one to look at perhaps.
Cheers

Adria and Giest have been around australia a while now and seem to have a reasonable following.

Jurgens Sungazer is hard to beat. Jurgens has none of the issues of imported caravans like Adria or the sway problems of Adria.

Thanks for replys
Would like a standard aluminium clad Aussie Van.
Looked at Millard 1450kg
Windsor 1595kg
Olympic Javelin 1620kg
Royal Flair 1700Kg
Diamond Gem 1450kg
Bit suspicious of the 1450 kg vans are they weighted without Air Conds etc.

I'm guessing the weights are TARE weights which is for an empty van and empty water tanks and LPG cylinders.
If the Diamong Gem is supplied with an Air Con then the manufacturer must amend the Vin Plate to include the air con in the Tare. The same applies if the A/C is fitted by the dealer.
It's the loaded weight that will have the most bearing on what you can tow.
Of those you've listed the Royal Flair runs rings around the rest. But I will admitt to not knowing the Diamond product and wonder who builds them.
