Any advice as to alternatives to the expensive Kaymar or ARB replacement rear bar. Don't need wheel carrier etc , just the bar to protect on steep inclines off road. Does anyone sell the above second hand? - 2003 T/D IFS Cruiser

you'll see them come up occasionally on ebay secondhand, though most have wheel carriers on them. you can buy the bars new without the wheel carriers on them, they are substantially cheaper that way, though still abit expensive when choosing those brand names.
there are several other cheaper alternatives out there, some people have had issues with them, but if you buy one without wheel carriers then i guess most of the issues they have had won't be a problem for you, as the wheel carriers and locking sytems is where most of their problems lay from what i've read.

I had a kangaroo wreck the rear bumper on my wagon , shocked at replacecement cost , I advertised on Explooz
classifieds and was able to purchase a rear bar secondhand from a member , it is a Opposite Lock bar with twin carriers.I had it painted to suit and installed it without the tyre carriers fiited , it always gives me the option to place carriers in position if required for extra tyres or auxilary
tank installation . The bar is very
well built and had been used to caary two 285x75x16 rims and tyres by the previous owner for several trips to the top of the
Kimberley's and shows no signs of any repairs ,Highly recommended , you could also try the lcool.org classified sectoin

as said above, Opposite Lock is one name, Powerful 4X4 Accessories do a bar aswell, though i'm not sure if they do it without swing arms, you'll have to ask them yourself
http://www.powerful4x4.net.au/store/product.php?productid=17517.
there's a few other names i've heard of aswell, but thier names currently escape me.
