Yes, after I replied to this post yesterday, I mentioned it to David again to see what his current thoughts were... and he said he had got somewhere already with moving towards coding a "mobile" version with a view to this. So I think this would be the direction he is likely to take... eventually.
One thing, if you want to send a blog to the site, you simply send an email to
blogs@exploroz.com this is awesome! It's had some issues rotating pics that the iphone does sideaways but I think he just sorted that out, but the idea anyway is that you send them from location, then when back at
home, open your
blogs and edit them to tidying them up, retag them etc.
I know that's the otherside of this issue, but relevant to some degree.
I know we have talked of using this kind of push technology to activate a pull from the server of relevant data to your current location if you want it sent to your phone, eg. nearby
places etc.
When we travel to the US in 2 weeks time (yippee!!) we are taking a pc tablet (pc version of an ipad with windows, usb etc that David imported from china) so we are testing all sorts of things on that. We will be doing a road trip, blogging and tracking so it will be interesting to see what he can make work. He has also imported some personal tracking devices that don't use a carrier network like spot or 3G etc.
