Any suggestions?

We previously had a Jayco Outback Eagle which was great.
Now thinking of something more weatherproof for short trips in any weather.
On-road is OK.

2 adults, 2 kids, but very tall 13-yr old who doesn't want to sleep with his sister.

Are bunks short? Boy likely to hit 6" feet tall soon.

Thanks.

Ho Ozwrangler,

Look at a 5.0 metre Windsor Rapid. Single axle or double and I think a settee that converts into a single bed. The same double beds as your Eagle either end and lots of walk around room like your eagle.

Look at the layouts available at the Windsor site.

Cheers

Would not recommmend a standard rapid as I am 6'3" and wife 6'2" and we have a RA441 Rapid. The beds in standard layout aren't really ideal for tall people, our 10 year old is going to be well over 6' and we are already looking at other options. We have to sleep along the van with the table down, effectively making a king size bed with both the folding bed and table bed joined together.
A number of the family vans with bunks are way to short, standard jayco bunks are 165-180cm long depending on model. A number of the european style vans Adria, giests and others do have bunks upto 190cm but most we have looked into are shorter. If money is no object you could always get a new van with specs to suit. If you get an answer we would like to know also. Brad & Nicole.

I see You have the same van as Me! and we do the same thing sleep longways. It's not that bad! then we can all watch TV until we all fall asleep, then I usually have to get up for a P!.. But that's life.

Cheers.

Not sure of the bunk size but there is a new 17' model (12 months) of the Jayco Expanda. Big beds either end and two bunks on one side wall. Two sitting areas with the bunk not set up.Shower and toilet. Mate has one for his family of five and loves it.

Have you had a look at the Paramount Duet with Bunk option.. We love ours, and it seems to be great in all the weather we have taken it in so far

Since you started the tread we have sold our Rapid 441 and are looking at the same problem alot closer now with cash in hand. Full vans narrowed down (with ensuite- we free camp heaps)to the Coromal 616 family, Jayco Sterling 24.75 & Starcraft 20', or Windsor Genesis. All have bunks that are 185cm or longer which came as a suprise as the previous jayco vans we had looked at were only 180cm or less. After owning the Rapid I could not bring myself to buy an expanda as the bed end sealing/erection procedure is a dogs breakfast in comparison to the rapid. What else have you found if anything?? Brad
