To all of you inveterate travellers coming to Silverton for the National Gathering.

While you have internet access, if you hover you mouse over the word Silverton in this post, it will open up a little box with Silverton on it. Go to Driving Directions on the bottom line and it will open up another window with a lot more info on it.
Included there is also the Distance it is from your home address to Silverton.

Write that distance down and if you have the furthest point from Silverton, you will win a great prize.
And the one that comes closest to half of the winners distance will also get a great prize.
I have got a prize list longer than your arm.

It looks like the weather will be favourable with no fire bans, so we will be able to have a good campfire.
One thing though, there isn't a lot of wood around, so if your able to pick up a bit of wood on your way, it wood be warmly received.

I will probably be there Saturday 17th and set up the EO banner.
I bought an e-flare from the EO shop and will have that flashing, so come and say G'day.

See you there.

Dave

Dave

I hope the gathering is a huge success. Frances and I wish we could be there, but duty calls.

However, we will be in BH in November and look forward to meeting up with you and your lovely wife again.

Hi Dave,

Wish we could be there but at least I hope we can meet you again before too long. Maybe next year when we hope to do another big trip, but even a smallish one would get us to BH and then into Corner Country.

With your knowledge of the area and experience I know the gathering will be a huge success.

Best regards,
Min

Gday Dave,

Hope you have a great gathering, had our names down for awhile but a Simpson trip got dropped in my lap, so you know how it is, I will just have to go :-) Hopefully we will get up there later in the year, and have more time than just a coffee to spend with yah..

Again good luck and hope all goes well..

Hi Dave,

Until a few days ago I had our names down to attend however we have just traded the Navara on a new Pajero (picking it up tomorrow) and need to get a few things done to it before we start towing the van so unfortunately we won't get there. Also we don't want to tow the van until we get the first couple of thousand kms up. It's a disappointment but....hopefully next year.....depending on where it is, we will finally get to meet everyone.

Sounds as though you have done some great organisation and I wish you every success. Should be a lot of fun.

Regards,

Heather

Hi Dave,
Sadly we too have had to cancel on the gathering. A pity because St George was fantastic and I have not doubt the Silverton gathering will be just as good. Our new place at Two Wells is taking longer than we planned, and then our son is getting married soon too. Hope we can catch up another time. Mike and Lani.

Hi Dave.
We will be looking for a nice camp site down at the Menindee Lakes for couple days before we head to Silverton. Any suggestions? Not the national park as we have a dog.
We are hoping to be at Silverton on the Saturday . So if you need a hand with anything count me in. Brian

Hi Dave,
1610 ks to get to Silverton from the Huon Valley, we must be lost, or going around in circles, cause we have already done 6400.
See you in Silverton
Cheers
