Hi guys,
We're thinking of heading to Broome for a week or so at the start or October and need somewhere to stay which is dog friendly (quite a large dog) - nothing too expensive. Looking for either caravan parks, or any good bush spots along the water? Another other suggestions are welcome!
Let me know :) Cheers!

None of the Broome Caravan Parks are dog friendly, unfortunately.
There is free camping at Quandong, along Manari Road towards James Price point, or at Barred Creek which is just before Quandong. Both places are great fishing spots and overlook water. All dirt roads but quite passable if you are careful.

As far as we could see there are no caravan parks that will take dogs in Broome but you could try Roebuck Bay caravan park or there is a free camp at Quandong which looks good and on the coast, it's on the Cape Leveque & Manari Road about 45km North of Broome. Good luck

We stayed at Tarangau C/P last year in Broome. They allowed dogs at the end of the main tourist season - last year dogs were allowed from late August. I understand other parks do the same.

Anything up Manari Road will be a bit desolate as a huge fire has just been thru - all sites evacuated for a short while last week.
Can recommend Tarangau - just stayed their & lovely & quiet.

As mentioned above - stay at Tarangau caravan park with your dog in October. Broome is quiet in October. The crowds have finally left.

Enjoy

Why not bi-pass Broome and go to Derby. You will get ripped off in Broome

Wow! Don't bypass Broome, it's a lovely town.Derby is okay to pass through a restock, or to do Horizontal Falls etc but Broome is beautiful, in my opinion. We spent a lovely week there this July and no sign of being ripped off.

I stayed at broome for several months and was very dissapointed. The place was a tip with litter and rubbish everywhere. When the tide comes in the mangroves are a wash with plastic, cans, foam and debry. A drive through most suburbs was the same. If Cable beach wasnt there Broome would have nothing to offer. A veiw held by a majority of tourists i spoke to around town.

G'day PC,
We had the same problem with Caravan & German Shepherd. We stayed at Roebuck Plains RH which is 34km out of Broome. We drove in with the dog, and had lunch in the outside section of a restaurant. The waitresss gave the dog a drinking bowl (35°). We had a drive around the beaches then moved on to Qandong Point which is a great spot. There was another dog friendly CP about to open up closer to Broome at 12 mile, but according to the locals it was objected to by the Mayor, who happened to own the CP's in Broome. Check out below link.
