Hi all,

I've been looking through some of the tag-along tours available on the net and havent really found one we are over the moon about.

We are basically looking to travel/trek with other groups/families. We like some of the tours but they all have a significant amount of pub accommodation. While we dont mind pubs at all, we would rather sleep in the camper trailer!

Does anyone know of any tours that do more of this thing?

Or are the any groups/clubs that you can join?

thanks

Beadells tours with Connie Sue Beadell and husband Mick Hutton. Wonderful. Excellent guides - knowledgeable, considerate, peaceful - a chance to slow down and enjoy Australia. Check out their web site

Gypsy, have a look at this website.

They have won numerous awards for their tours and covers a fair bit of Australia.

They are also helping sponsor our National gathering in Silverton

Hi Gypsy

Depends a bit on what you are trying to achieve.
Their is not much detail in your question.

If you wanted to sleep in the trailer to save cost then not much point with a tag along.

Some 4wd clubs here in Vic are so large they constantly have trips going away and these can work really well , after you get to know the people.

As sir Kev says forums like this, my swag etc have plenty of opportunities as well.
If you join a few there is always something going on.

I prefer the loose association type trips from these informal forums because sometimes you don't know people all that well and they might have habits you don't like, like washing in rivers or lighting fires when not allowed etc.

At least with these groups you are free to move on relativily easily, much harder if you have paid significant money.

Yes I second thaqt - they are now doing tag along with caravans (never thought I would see TOny in one) - they happen to be arriving in Birdsville on Saturday.
Very diverse tours, very helpful, good mechanic and very good chef- Brenda extremely knowledgeable with environmental things and history.

Thanks for that bit of info zenonie and Ruth D. We are taking delivery of an off road van early February and intend to go to the Cape next winter. We have no experience with lowing off road and I thought a tag along would be a good idea. I've checked out their web site and it looks good. Perhaps more tag along operators will add off road van tours to their lists of tours.

And zenonie I note your web address. We are headed in your direction an about a week. Looking forward to it, too.
