Just wondering if anyone has done this road within the last fortnight? How was it?
Still undecided whether to drag my boat across from Townsville or to just hire one there. Going to be over there for a couple of weeks though, so my own boat would be nice.....
Cheers,
Roo.

Hello Roo
We travelled the road from
Weipa to
Port Douglas last week. We were travelling in a Nissan Patrol but we were not towing. There were many vehicles towing either camper trailers or a boat, and the odd off-road caravan. The road is dusty and corrugated but if you have a good trailer there would be no reason why you couldn't take it. We would suggest that you drop your tyre pressures.

Thanks for the report mate.
Thats pretty much what I was hoping to hear. Heard a couple of second hand stories last week though about really bad corrugations & bad wash outs, so thought it might be best to get a recent report. I suppose it depends on what sort of roads you are used to.....
Got a good boat trailer, so hopefully all will be sweet if I take my time.
Thanks again,
Roo.
