Hi all, we are considering heading down south for the first week of the school holidays in October. Thinking of trying to get a spot for the camper somewhere like warren
camp, draftys
camp, snottygobble loop etc. We won't be able to get there until Monday morning. So my question is - are these
places likely to be chock a block at this time of year? and does anyone have a suggestion of the best place to head for first? Thanks, doc.

Hi Oz Doc.
I would think that yes there would be more people at these
places than normal but thats not a bad thing.
I always have a list of
places to
camp in the area and have a look and see attitude.
If its to full I try somewhere else or if the
camp site isnt user friendly Ill move on.Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Thanks Macca. I've been doing a bit of research and there are several campsites down that way that may be suitable. The tricky bit is trying to find out which ones will accomodate the camper and which are more suited to tents. I called the Pemberton DEC office andhad a chat to them and it sounds like the
camp at Shannon is very large and if it is really busy they open and overflow area, so this will be plan B. We are going to head down on the Monday morning so as to give ourselves plenty of daylight to drive around if neccesary.Possilby some campers will be leaving later that day(as it is the end of the long weekend) and this might improve our chances. We have not done much national
park camping before - we usually book into caravan parks to make sure we get a spot. Worse case scenario we may need to
camp in a rest spot or head back for home. Cheers, doc.
