Hi all
Just wondering if anybody has experience using Techni Ice? A friend has just given me a sheet of these which he received when he bought a new Eskey on line. The specs. for the product sound really good, it claims to stay frozen five times longer than ice, so I'm looking forward to giving it a try.
Has anybody used it extensively to give an opinion.
Regards Jon

The techni ice icebox I had was good & strong but those techni ice sheets I found were useless.. I had much better results freezing empty 3lt milk containers & using them as ice packs

Tried them once. Threw them out. I also use the frozen milkbottle method. Cheap, clean and provided they have been washed thoroughly you have plenty of cold water if required.
cheers

I, too, haven't had much joy with the ice. I thought that maybe it was because our esky was big & we didn't have enough sheets to go with it but they certainly didn't last frozen very long.

My understanding of Techni ice sheets is that to get the best life you use them together with block ice not as a replacement They are ideal to wrap around food or drinks or layer between. I have started freezing sheets in the car fridge then transfer them to the Esky each day when away on big trips.
A few sheets used on their own in hot weather expect to stay frozen for just a weekend. Used in the Techni Ice esky combined with block ice I've had it last 2 weeks.
Cheers Craig..............

Thanks everyone for your replies. Sounds like the products not as good as it's made out to be. I'll give this sheet a go anyway as it was a gift, and see how I get on.
Thanks Jon

We did enjoy some success with them many years ago.
We take a few sheets with us every trip just in case we need to administer ice to a sprain, swelling, bites etc.

I use Techni Ice mainly for filling a small personal carry cooler to keep a 6 pack cool whilst going out if I don't have ICE. It is handy for that purpose, nothing beats Ice or Dry Ice for the real thing IMO.
