Hi all. I have a 2001 anniversary 100 series which has courtesy lights in the doors and tailgate but they aren't working. When I bought it the salesman said he had "turned them off " as the vehicle was sitting around in the yard with all the doors open. Can anyone tell me how to turn them back on again. Thanks.

Terry.

The dome lights have a switch on them with Off, On or Door.

Shift it the switch to Door

Cheers,
John

Hi Terry,
R your 'lights' red in colour? if they are they are only reflectors, you will need to replace them with the lights out of a VX or Sahara. Fitting only takes a matter of moments on each door a& the wiring harness is there to connect to. Lights should be readily available from Toyota.
The white lights really do very little in aiding entry to the vehicle....something to consider purchase from ebay or similar small LED light panels & fit them to the red reflector using the original wiring ....will work a treat.
The reflectors/lights pry out of the door trim very easily

Yep the ones in the doors that are red are NOT lights.

Had battery problems and the smarty at the shop said its those red lights in the doors.

I said strange I didnt know reflectors used power.

His face was a red as one of them.

Terry, for stuff like this you really have to go to the LCOOL forum, which, if you don't already know is the place to find out anything and everything about any model Toyota ever sold in Australia and Globally.

You have to become a member, however it's FREE , repeat FREE and I am dead set sure this is where you will find the answer/s to your questions.

This the link for LCOOL:

Just wondering if you work for LCOOL ? You seem to send any Toyota person with a question on to them .

Thanks everyone. They are not the dome lights and they are not reflectors. They are the small courtesy lights at the bottom of the doors and top tailgate. Not in all models. The car was bought some time ago in another city so I cant ask the salesman. I could ask an auto electrician but just haven't got around to it. Thought someone might have a simple answer. Will try LCOOL
