Have recently bought a Jayco Swan outback and thinking of air conditioning it. Salesman felt it was a waste as the roof top version is not particularly effective (his words). Also, we have roof racks fitted on van so wondering if an air con will prevent carrying goodies on the roof? Any suggestions?

Hi Sally, W were thinking about airconditioning our Jayco Flamingo when we bought it 2 years ago but have now decided against it as the air flow is great so no real need for it. Even when we went to Tassie last Febuary the only thing we did was to run a small fan heater for about 1/2 an hour in the mornings if it was a bit on the chilly side. So my advice toyou would be to use the van a bit before making a dicision.

You may also overload the wind up cables with a roof Air con
