Hema HN5i

Have any HN5i navigator users paired it up with an Apple Mac using Bootcamp or Parallels.
In anticipation

Hi Neil
Using Parallels on you Mac with Windows I assume you mean you can use the supplied Hema cd rom software to plot tracks and waypoints on your laptop and load the routes onto the HN5i.

Hi Stan. Using Parallels is really seamless on the Apple - no need to close down one operating system to get to the other one. I use Oziexplorer on the laptop and Ozi CE on the HN5i. The HN5i stores tracks, waypoints and routes in the "Oziexplorer Data" folder on the microSD card so I save files from the laptop to the microSD card into that folder and insert the SD card back into the HN5i. You then need to import the files into the Ozi CE program. Hope that makes sense. I haven't found my way around Topo as yet. I found the new iGO street mapping excellent - Route 66 was hopeless. By the way, we have a 79 series traytop with a canopy and tow Ultimate #1002!! Cheers, Neil

Thanks for that Neil
I have the original version of the hema navigator and found it very good but very fiddly to add waypoints.
I would like to update to the HN5i but would not if I was unable to set waypoints etc. on the computer screen.
Great camper Neil, ours is build 496 and have travelled many trouble free kilometres.
Again, thanks for the information.
Stan
