Anyone recommend a good reliable place to get my troopy 78series 40k service at a reasonable price ?

Just been to mr Toyota and they want $1860 !

I've had it from new and its had a very easy life and done very little off road work as I use it mainly as tow vehicle for my caravan.

All oils filters etc. regularly changed at 5k intervals.

What about Toyota fixed price servicing.? Just had my 50,000KMs 200 Series Cruiser done today with new brake pads for $410.00. Cannot imagine $1860 for 40,000km, you must be mistaken? If the car has only done 40,000Kms that is not possible.

The vehicle is 2006 model, and before "fixed price" servicing was the norm. It has only just done 40,000klms as It is only used to tow my caravan and we have a second vehicle for everyday use.

I nearly fell through the floor when he (Grand Toyota) came back with the figure !
No mistake, when I queried the price he said it was the biggest service, and he gave me a print out of all items to be done.

It included full strip and relube of front hubs and bearings, all oils and fluids etc.

I dont see how they could charge you $1860 for a 40,000km service, there is no real biggest service after that many KM's. The only way to get to that price is if brakes need machining and replacing etc, or something abnormal. Yeah take it elsewhere and tell them why .
