Has anyone tried Twonav by Compegps? Importantly, can it read my existing Hema, Westprint and Auslig maps? At $69.99 I am not going to buy and try without some positive feedback first.

There is quite a bit of discussion about it at the gpsaustralia forum.

My husband uses memorymaps and nudmaps.

He tried to download the hema maps from our hema GPS, but it didn't work as the file format was incompatible, even though memorymaps should have done so.

Hello

Any map you choose to use will have to be converted to TwoNavs own RMAP format using CompeGPS Land (CGL - free download of unregistered version from compegps website should work).

CGL accepts ECW files ...so if your existing maps are in this format it is a simple process of opening and then resaving in RMAP format and loading to Ipad. CGL also accepts OZF format files...but requires a non standard *dll file that some knid sole created

OZF plugin for CGL

No worries Bob

I use TwoNav on an Aventura. I am not sure how different the program is on the ipad/iphone but find it ideal for my requirements. Aventura is slightly different in that you can use ECW files directly with no conversion but obviously the Iphone/Ipad doesnt have required files to display ecw hence requirement to convert to RMAP. If you proceed with your purchase and get stuck converting maps get back to me.

Some screen shots of TwoNav on Ipad here

Looks good.

Cheers
