Hi All,
I have been told that there are some 4WD tracks around Ormeau between Brissie and the
Gold Coast. Does anyone know exactly how to get there? I'm keen to take a look this weekend.
Dan.

I thought they closed that area because it was on private land ?????

There may be a few different
places around there. But a 'friend of a friend'
reckons he was there early Oct and it wasn't private.

Probably right.
The "main" area which includes a quarry was private property and closed.
Oh yeah, one thing . . . apparently you can still get to this "main" area, but it is definently closed. Whether this is the same place . . . don't know.

Ok . . . checked with a local.
Still open . . . under pressure to be closed.
Sorry, still doesn't help with actual track locations.

Some of the Clubs go in there. I think
Gold Coast and Mitsubishi - I'm sure I've read about their trips to Ormeau in their magazines. Know anyone in either Club? If so ask them. Otherwise get a topo map and go exploring.

Hey Moose,
We have tried a couple of clubs (we are not members) that frequent the area. They are all tight lipped about directions. A bit annoying I say. Might have to go splorin'.

Hi Dan,
I went in there early this year but was following a friend so have no idea what the road names are. Basically up the top of a
hill out the back of Ormeau there is a dead end road with a water tower and the track continues on at the end of that. There is a way in from the southern end but I didn't go in that way. There were quite a few 4wds in there the day I was there and there are certainly some interesting tracks. I would not be surprised if there was pressure to close it down but as far as I know it has not been yet.
Tim.
