HI all picked up a new Jayco
Penguin Out-back last November. Had made a few changers to inside of cupboards to strength up changed the wheels and fitted extra stone and mud protection but I expected these needed doing when I brought the camper. The problem I am having that was not expected is the handles on the front boot falling apart. They were both replaced last February at the first service after one fell apart and then one of the replacement set fell apart about two weeks ago. They were replaced by Jayco for free but I was told by the spare parts sales person that Jayco were having a lot of problems with these handles. I have now replaced them with the type that goes on shed doors. Has anybody else had the same problem and how did you sort it out?

Hi
John,
Our 2011 1756-2 Expanda had the same problem worked fine on first set up with salesman then when I tried unlocking the hard lids a few days later and I turned the handle left when I should have turned right and the handle comes off in my hand, anyway a quick call to Jayco and new set is in the mail.
Removed old handle and notice a little circlip has popped off its
seat so squeeze it back in and try again and its fixed, so I now have a spare set of handles but also don't lock hard lids anymore.
I think the handle was set a little low from factory and the lever would bottom out before it completed its full motion to lock.
I would insist on Jayco fixing them with original type or better unless you prefer the new ones.
Cheers Michael

Had the same problem with my 2008 Swan. I've just ordered an expanda so hope the problem has been solved by the time it arrives.
