Hi all,

With very limited knowledge of camping spots here in South Australia, as I used to camp as a kid and never as an adult. I'm based here in Adelaide and looking for a camp site that would be too busy on the long weekend, with a bit of space and some great wildlife, a few spots i had in mind but not totally sure what it would be like on a long weekend are....

Spear Creek, Burra Creek Gorge or Mambray Creek?

any thoughts or other suggestions?

Cheers Lyle

May I suggest the coorong in the south east. October long weekend is a fantastic time there and shouldn't be too crowded. Also you can still have a campfire there. Some beautiful oceans views and amazing sand dunes. Also fantastic scrubs. Very nice hiking trails.

Also, if you want you can take a quick day trip to kingston se and get some good crazy fish. there are a few good wineries too around kingston. Cape jaffa winery is a very nice visit.

I believe Spear Creek is closed to camping now.

Hi Lyle

One spot that you can visit time over time are the Flinders. If you do not want to travel that far, but with similar scenery, Caroora Creek Conservation Park, as part of the Dares Hill scenic drive.

Where ever you go, have a great time.
