is there a gps that you can type coordinates into and they will show you where it is in map form
reason for asking is im hopeless with directions and i find camps6 etc hard to understand to me its not very user friendly it will just say 5k s/e on soso hwy.well i drive around and cant find the spot but most camp spots have coordinates listed so if i just typed then in it should show me on the gps where it is
thanks all in advance

Any of the marine or trekking type hand helds will do this for you. They are less than $200
If you just want directions as the crow flys without any mapping

I am quite sure my Garmin Nuvi does it as well, have a poke around in your menu and I think you will find it as an option

Garmin 1390T will give you coordinates live in Where am I, or you can input coordinates as a destination.
HOWEVER when I was looking for the crashed Beaufort near Bamaga , I found my coordinates differered slightly from Ron Moon's book. I do not know whether his or mine were wrong, but they were only say 50 metres out.

Most GPS' can do this one way or another. Look under POI (points of interest). You can usually add your own locations using that option.

G'day Jim

I just had a look on my old Tomtom One XL, about 5 or 6 years old, (maps are up to date, I use it for city work), and it has this feature.

I know my Garmin has, thats what it's for, but I would think any reasonable brand in the last few years would have this feature. May take a bit of menu searching or manual reading, but it is likely to be there.

Cheers, Dave

I believe that Android also has an app for GPS Navigator - Have a look at the Market for it.

You can even get all the Camps 6 spots form them as waypoints. It's about $10 and you get all locations to load into your GPS. I think they would supply them for GPX format or Garmin.

Hi,We have Garmen units , Nuvi 760. Nuvi 255. and a Gpmap62s and you can enter coordinates into all these, if they are in a different format than normal , you can change this as well.
Cheers Des.
