I'm wanting to drive the back road from
Huonville to
New Norfolk in Tassie.
My map shows a 4WD track but I would like some advice before tackling it. Has anyone travelled this road?

hi Frank, being a local I have travelled this track--called Jeffries Track--- numerous times but not recently. It is a rocky track covered in small loose stones, steep in
places and can be heavily rutted in
places towards
New Norfolk end depending on rainfall and past traffic as it is a popular track to travel.I often took a Diahatsu F20 along it and didnot have too much trouble -- had to use the winch sometimes.a few tracks do run off the main track and can be very muddy and slippery and 1 has a rather deep
water hole.all in all a sometimes easy drive sometimes challenging but always fun.should take between 1/12 -4 hrs. cheers Richard
