G'day,
Just like to past on to all that I just saw Doug on Landline, ABC. There was a short item on Mt. Bundy Station and featured a short snippet with Doug in it. If anyone wishes to see what the great historian looks like, Landline is repeated on Mondays at 11:00 am on ABC1.
Well Done Doug, keep up the good work.
Regards,
Peter (1)

Hi Peter, I know you said it was on Mt Bundy but what was the context of the segment?
I am looking on the web for it and not sure of the story line or headline if you like.
Can you help me with it please?

G'day Dunworkin,
Sorry, I was outside cleaning the Barbie after a bacon and eggs brunch and heard the mention of Mt Bundy on the TV and as I had been there a couple of years ago (Doug wasn't there at the time) I thought I'd
check it out. It had mentioned about the station being used as a base by the Yanks during the war, but it was only a short segment so it might be a promo for next weeks show, Doug was only on for a short time.
Perhaps if Doug is watching this, he may be able to enlighten us.
Regards,
Peter (1)

G'day Dunworkin again,
Just watched the repeat on ABC1 and the segment is in the 'News Summary' bit about 20 - 25 minutes into the show. It is the second last story in the 'News Summary' and it starts off about the station being started about 100 years ago by buffalo hunters, was used by the Armed Forces during the war and is now mainly set up for tourists. Hope this helps.
Regards,
Peter (1)

Peter
Yeh it was done about 2 weeks ago, was on the local NT news the same day but has since gone on Landline so I have heard.
We have had another film crew here over the weekend so had to do it all again about the FRU site and then the owner , myself, and a couple of others had to make look like we were fishing, not sure what channel and when it will be on, maybe Ch 9 . I don't mind, the US Navy FRU site needs some coverage, I have put a lot of work and research into it.
