Can any one tell me what the centre plug is in the picture and what it would be used for? It and the 7 pin plug were on the vehicle when I bought it. I had the Anderson plug added later as a dedicated feed to a three way fridge.
Thanks.
Kevin

It depends on what's under the cover, looks like a cigarette lighter plug but it could be a connection for a rear view camera.

Shows us what the plug inside looks like!

flip up the lid and take a pic, it looks like the "std" power outlet plug that you can buy from Narva ect ........ just another form of HD plug/socket
Cheers

I reckon you will find a pic of it on the net if you look for it ...

In S.A we always had the round 7 pin plug but mainly in plastic.
The one you have there is a smaller diameter 5 or 7 pin trailer plug it usually had a aluminiun plug that fitted in to it.

Gday,
Does it look something like this?

If so, its probably just a 12v power outlet.
Or even inlet for a solar panel.

It looks to me like (as said) a Narva or Hella fitting. It is a 12v outlet (similiar to a cig lighter outlet) but it retains the plug better on rough roads.

Thanks for all your input. I guess I can use it for any 12V application that requires a + and - connection. Probably suitable for taking power to a camera on the back of a caravan or similar application.

It's a Merrit socket. Used for power supply, in this case 12V.. The plugs 'clicks' in positively unlike cig plugs and sockets.
