Hi All,
A Question for 200 Series owners - Where did you put your brake controller & CB?
Thanks,
Shell

You might get an answer on this
Forum Shell, but you'd be far better off at

Cheers.

Hi
Shell,
I have a 200 and faced the same problem. In the end I used a basic brake controller (a Tekonsha Primus IQ) that can be placed down on a flat surface (i.e. without levers underneath) and used self-adhering velcro to attach centrally on the top centre of the dashboard. (Careful if you have an indash GPS because its antenna might be right underneath - you can easily pop the top section of the dash to
check and possibly move it a few inches) My UHF is an Icom IC-440, with a remote head. I removed the thingy on the back of the microphone that normally slots into the holding bracket and, using velcro again, stuck it to the LH side of the dash, in the shallow V between the aircon outlet and the instrument cluster. It has survived rough roads there. The steering wheel hides it a bit but it is quite functional and, because it is pointing towards you, easy to hear the speaker built into the handpiece. The rest of the unit remains, 1000's of km later, where I put it "temporarily", in the elastic pocket behind the driver's
seat. Neither unit has moved or faltered.
Mark

My brake controller is under the dash on the left of steering column.
My CB is in an overhead roof console. (fun to fit)

Hi Alan,
Is it an after Market roof console? We had thought about doing this as
well, but unsure of which brand?
Thanks

Shell
It was an aftermarket console (Department of Interior brand I think) I fitted myself and it fitted
well but stringing wires was a challenge. The interior light wires have to be extended (13 of them if I remember)
Find the radio (Icom) fits
well and is totally out of the way up there.

Put my Tekonsha Voyager Brake controller under the driver’s side dash, far left. Fitted perfectly. It is on an angle, but was easy to adjust for the angle and I can easily reach it while driving to adjust the gain. I have an Icom 440 and fitted the body under the driver’s side
seat. I replaced the ash tray face with a steel plate and fixed the microphone bracket there. The microphone sits neatly there. If I know I will be using it for a while, I just let it sit in the space under the ash tray. Easier to pick up quickly. Kevin

Hi Dave,
If you look closely in the
pic, you will see that the controller does not intrude on the plastic cutout for the kneebag. Many 200 owners with kneebags have mounted them there, though many others have fitted them in the ashtray slot too.
Cheers

Morning
Shell,
upgraded eh?
Here is where I put those items on our LC200.
Image Could Not Be Found
Tekonsha Prodigy in front of the left knee (not available if the Altitude model has knee airbags) and the UHF is a remote head model with the head in front of the gearstick and the box of electronics is under the
seat.
By the way, don't be tempted to chip the motor. Exhaust gas temps are an issue when towing and can't be monitored easily.
cheers

Hi Stephen,
Yes we thought it was the right time to upgrade, but didn't know we would hit a wall with these 2 issues!

You will find all the answers on lcool as previously stated with some good photos.
I have just fitted my controller in the ashtray recess look great & a fairly easy install.
The circuit breaker I mounted on the side of the inmner guard panel near the driver side battery.
If you havent purchased your controller yet try this link

Just in passing the switch wire on the brake pedal is the solid red wire

Hi
Shell,
We have a 200 series also. We put the remote uhf under the centre console with just the mic on the left of the 'radio'. We originally had the brake controller where the ashtray goes, but found it too difficult to reach the slide control while driving. It has been relocated to the left of the steering column.
Regards
Chris
