Question: Holland Track

Hi there,

Does anyone know how I can download all the waypoints for this trek in one hit? I guess I could download them all manually one at a time however I do not have the patience.

I want to give this one a crack next weekend as I have the Monday off.

Cheers
Alan

Alan,

Have you tried the "download trek" button on the right side of the interactive route map on the link above to the Holland Track? ;)

Hi Andrew,

Yes, I have downloaded the plot file and have that part sorted. I have also downloaded the GPX file and tried to use in Googlearth with view to exporting to Oziexplorer however that didn't work.

I need the waypoints so I can create a route file and be lazy and just follow the arrow on the GPS.

Thanks for your help

Alan

I am surprised Alan that you haven't already got all the Geocaches along the track and even laid a few there yourself.

We did the track last year and it has been well marked by the 4x4 clubs with little signs showing the way.

Sorry I can't help with the waypoints I think someone will come up with that.

It is a great trip and with the great season we have had it should be very green and the historic water catchments should be full.

We went right through to the Cavehill and saw some people there with yabbie nets getting a feed.

Cheers

Hi Serendipity,

I have done bits and pieces and have crisscrossed it all over the place however have never done the whole lot from Coolgardie to Broomehill (I'll pretend I'm an unsuccessful prospector going to catch a ship in Albany)

Yeah should be good with the good season, hope there's not too much surface water.

Cheers

Got it!!

I imported the GPX file directly into Oziexplorer.

Saved the waypoints as "Holland Track".

Now can manually create a route, will take me 20 minutes.

Sorry for the bother - gee I went from stressed to relaxed in only 35 minutes :)

Cheers

s'Truth Alan.

You had the plot. Were you worried that there actually is a track to follow instead of going point to point for a change? Or are you going to re-align the Track?

:-)

Cheers.

John - I actually lost the plot for a while!!

Sometimes there may be waypoints that are not actually in the plot such as when they are slightly off the main track etc...

Anyway done and dusted, waypoints and route loaded and tested on PDA.

You know, the track could be slightly realigned at Pigeon hole, that's a bit off the main drag :))

Hope you are well.
Cheers

finally did it for the first time a couple of months back

and while it was great to do the track and had some fantastic company IMHO there are plenty of better tracks in the region

alot of this is due to most of the track going through yellow sandplain which was extensivly burnt out in 05 so is still in the early stages of recovering

I can suggest a few other tracks if need be but I suspect your like me and have just got around finally do actually doing this one
