Hi All,
some info/help please: I have changed a Sacrificial annode before, but in a previous van, this time in a different van it is more of a problem ? I have unscrewed annode & it is totally free to turn, but will not come out of the tank, it just keeps turning around, but will NOT pull out. Any idea's please on my next move to remove it ??
I'm guessing some form of pulley or drilling out??
many thanks

Might be calcium build up stopping it coming out, but I've never seen it happen on any of
mine!

Hi there , not sure on your annode but presume it had a bolt to hold it in ?? if you can maybe stick a screw driver UNDER the annode then screw out whilst applying pressure - this may break any calcium that may be holding it ...

Make sure you poke a hose in and wash all the crappy white stuff out before you replace it.
Aslo dont completely cover the threads with tape as the thread connection acts as an earth between unit and anode

There is a product on the market that will flush out the calcium from your water tanks and you pump the water through the hot water system and let it stand overnight it also will clear the taps and the fine spray nozzle

Hi Snailbait,
that sounds a good product, any idea where I might get it, at the end of the day that would be
well worth it once a year, as i am going to change the sacrificial Annode every year from now anyway.
Thank you

You can probably use Tankleen from Camec but I have found just poking the hose in and working it around gets it all out A gernie makes too much mess.
Depending on where you have been a 6 month
check on the anode may be better as we didnt do it soon enough and it had started to eat the wire down the centre.
For $31 its better to do it early.
Cheers
