Good afternoon peoples,

The time is nigh for Henry, aka Effie our F250, to receive an
upgrade to the suspension. Have been doing my homework, as you do, and had just about settled on a lift kit from 4WD1.

It has just been suggested to me that RAW shockers/springs etc could
be a very good alternative to the 4WD1 kit, which includes Tough Dog
adjustable shockers.

Not being familiar with RAW products myself, I am sure that somebody
here will have an opinion, good, bad or otherwise.

Hi Michael

I think that I told you when we last spoke that Black Cobra (WA EO Member) has had all possible work carried out to his F250. Get in contact with Stewart and he will be able to give you the run-down.

We met him across the Anne Beadell last year and his rig was something very special.

Cheers

Raw originaly made shocks for Prime-Mover trucks but I don't know how there 4wd stuff is. Try doing a search on some of the dedicated 4WD sites.

Thanks Dave,

I have done some research and know that they are made for/by the company
Powerdown. They have been in the "suspension" business since about 1983.

Seem to have good credentials but I am more interested in hearing from anybody that has used them.

Am checking out all the other sites too.

Cheers

Hi Michael I fitted Powerdown shocks all round on our OKA the beginning of last year and they have performed ok with no problems their baptism of fire was a couple of stretches of the Gunbarrel either side of Geraldton bore and the horror section of the CSR north of well 33 we took it pretty steady but at no time did they get to hot to bear my hand on.
Later in the year I attacked a few sand hills in Eqinox country and as i said no problems to date they have done some 22000 kms.

Cheers Dave

Thank you Dave,

Just the type of information I am seeking.

"Equinox Country" would sort out any flaws that a suspension may have........ask the man himself..lol

I think we had to weld his busted spring a least 8 times last year;)))

MJ,
Here is a link to Dobinson springs. They are a very reputable firm and have been in the business for years suppling many of the 4x4 suspensions to other companies.

Dobinson Springs

On a secondary note I have had no problems with my Toughdog shockies.

have a good one,

Tks RA,

Dobinson Springs did come under consideration too. The reason I was asking
about Powedown/RAW was simply because the company I will get to do the work, in Adelaide, have connections to them.

This company will put whatever I choose on but made a suggestion and I was just following up.

I would sooner spend only the once on a product I will be happy with;))
