I,m looking for a good 12 volt portable DVD player. I know there are a few around but I,m looking for some thing a little different. I don't want to pack DVD movies but want to load them onto a hard drive prior to a trip (Or similar) Does anyone know if there is such a beast?

Why not buy a cheap laptop with several hundred gig of hard drive space. Can be used for internet when travelling, set up as route planner/tracker, use e-mail and watch saved dvds.
More value than a dvd player.
cheers

Hi,
Play the movies through your 12v TV from the laptop and everyone can watch!

Gooday,
Son In Law bought one a year or so ago for 3 year old, it plays on 110V, 240V ,12 V or it's own battery, a little ripper. Ok got it in the US but that is not a problem today.
Plays both PAL & Secam, they travel a lot.
It is a Audiovox, used to be a good brand here many moons ago.
Have a look at their website may help you out.
Cheers,
Boroma604.

I just bought Kogan 240/12v HD LED 22" TV with built in DVD for $154 on ebay. The 16" ones were going for around $130.

Great picture and the DVD works a treat. You can load movies up on a USB stick and use it as well, but i haven't yet.
