Gday,
Ive been asked to help a mate fit a trailer plug to his 2000 3.0 TD patrol.
Does anyone know if they have a factory harness or plugs for this purpose or do you need to splice in to the main harness.
Anything I need to be aware of?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers

Hi Hairy, Nissan do have a harness that plugs straight into the tail lights with piggy back plugs. Did it with my GU when I had it, Makes life a lot easier.
Cheers

Thats the lazy way Hairy - I did it the hard way , but saves going into the car I guess.
A loom runs to chassis rail near the passenger side tail light and I spliced into the wires there - you also then have to get 1 wire (driver indicator) from driver side of car.
On the plus side I was able to tidy the looms up a bit making them less likely to catch on a log.
The earlier models had an aluminium rear step and I fitted a plug straight into it which really kept it out of the dirt
