Hi all does anyone know of any early 60's vintage cruisers around QLD that I might be able to get some parts from. There are only 2 that I know of and the other one was traded when 3 years old (1966) and has been sitting in a shed ever since (only travelled 10,000miles) and they won't sell it or do anything with it.
The one I'm getting was 1 of 39 of the first ever made to replace the FJ28 and imported to Australia by Sir leslie Theiss in '63.
I particularly need an original roof and radiator/ headlight panel (don't want fiberglass unless I have no other choice)
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Dave,
Have you checked with Queensland Cruisers in Rocky? Might be worth a try......
First Landcruiser I drove was in early '65. Didn't have a radio, but it didn't matter 'cause once the door strikers started to wear, you wouldn't have able to hear anything for all the rattles.
Will have to make some inquiries round
Winton for you,
Bob.

Thanks Bob,
I haven't as they usually have 75's and later due to the mines but I will shoot them an email. I actually stopped buying things from them as they were up to $1000 dearer for transfer cases than the wreckers in
Brisbane.

Cannot go back to 63 but my first landcruiser was a 67 Fj45 3 speed I purchased from an uncles estate .
it was traded to
watson toyota in
young in 1988 for the current 75 series we have at the
farm.
they might know where it ended up

Hi Howard,
I think the 67 had the round windows in the rear sides of the cab didn't it similar to later models?
The 63 being the first made if the model only had 2 rear windows in the 1 piece cab with fairly square rear corners of the cab and is actually wider than the later ones across the rear firewall if that makes sense.
