Hi there is alot of discussions on the tried and tested oztent and blackwolf tents, but does anyone have first hand experience with the above brand? Are they as easy to go up and pack away compared to blackwolf and oztent? Thanks in advance.

They all seem easy setting up & packing up. We have looked at these tents & as a
point of interest at a recent members night at BCF we looked at their two new style tents which are similar to the Black wolf but I think easier to put up and down. There is a new Coleman tent which was very easy & I think the best out of them all. The thing that you have to do is get the sales person to get these tents out of their bags & set them up. The 30 second or Oz Tent is by far the best quality IMHO however it must be carried on the roof rack of the vehicle & is certainly not light. My wife is only 5' tall and getting the Oz Tent on and off the roof rack would be very difficult for us then there is the wind resistance caused by the tent on the roof causing a drop in fuel economy & the price of them. BCF had tents for $299 upwards depending on size & brand. For an easy set up tent and good tourer Have a look at the new Coleman. In anwer to your question I have had a play with the tent you mention & have not bought one.

Hi Penchy. I can't help you re the Oz Trail Blitz or the others mentioned but have first hand experience with the Colman Instant 2.4x2.4m tent. The tent was so new 3 or 4 weeks ago when we saw a pile of them at our local Rays camping store in
Newcastle they had not had the time to pitch one and were not able to help us a great deal. As we were heading off soon and some of our planned accommodation had fallen over, decided to buy one and hope for the best. Pitched it in the back yard when we got
home and the frame system is a dream and the whole thing goes up very fast. Used the tent for 6 of the 15 nights we were away traveling from
Newcastle to
Burketown and back. Some in caravan parks and some bush camps. Plenty of ventilation in the Gulf and closed up pretty
well once back in NSW in the slightly cooler weather. As you can tell we covered a bit of territory and the speed of pitching and striking the tent was a pleasure. The only concerns I have with this product is the frame mechanism joint may give trouble after a lot of use and that the fabrics are light weight, the instructions I think say not designed to withstand heavy rain. Back only a couple of days and are happy campers.
Hay for $250.00 compared to $100 plus per night in a motel we are already ahead. Cheers Chris.
