Where do you start to reply to this??? Hardfloor, softfloor, budget etc etc etc
Me? - I've got an Adventure Offroad camper and love it but I'm sure plenty of others will extoll the virtues of their 'babies' as
well. My suggestion - trawl the net to narrow the field a bit, go and do some hands on looksees to narrow down further then try to hire what you like for a
test run. It's a long process but if you're going to spend a fair whack of the hard earned on a camper trailer it's worth the effort.
Hope this helps a bit!
Cheers

Thanx for reply.the reason I mentioned towing with a hi lux is that I c so many being towed by cruisers an patrols that I figured that the tow vehicle was the place to start.I have a budget up to 35 k and hoped to be able to take a camper most
places I could get the hi lux.I only need a 2 berth as it is only my wife and I.we plan to be on the road a couple of months at a time.next year thanx

Think you'll find your (late model??) Hilux will easily tow any camper trailer on the market -
check out the Camper & Trailers section of the
Classifieds on this site - good starting point.

G'day Phil
And look at www.campertrailers.org in the Trader section.
Wew have towed both a Tvan, and Jayco Outback with a TD Hilux with no problems.
Good hunting
John

What model Hilux? Towing capabilities vary.

Make sure you thoroughly investigate the towball weight of whatever trailer you look at. Early Hilux's are only good for 150kg download. A loaded
Kimberley can be around 250+kg. I have seen it first-hand - the chassis can bend.

What do you want to do with the camper trailer and where do you want to go?
How long do you want to be away from civilisation?
Inside or out side kitchen?
What price do you want to pay?
... and the list can go on....
You need to give more details.... it's like asking "what type of white 4 door car should I buy"...... we know it's a car you after and it has to be a white one with four doors... get my drift!

Go Lucky
We had 6 months travelling around this great country a couple of years ago. I had a 2006 SR5 Hilux 3 ltr Turbo Diesel. I towed an off road camper big enough to sleep 4 adults (no it was not like that) any plenty of food & gear. It went to all the
places I wanted to go and power to spare. Got about 10 litres to the 100 k's on avg.
Hope this hepls

We have a petrol/gas Hilux 2004. Have just bought a Cub
Brumby 2007. Have up graded the shocks and put air bags in the Hilux last week. Will be doing a 2 week trip soon about 3,000kms. We do not rush and are happy with our choice. The cub is heavy and its probably a bit of an over kill in offroadness....but we didn't want to limit our camping sites.
