Another petrol conversion gaining some popularity is to the current Ford 4.0L inline 6. They are cheap, plentiful, torquey, tough and come in several variants including gas and ballistic turbo. They are also fairly easy to set up with their factory harness and ECU.

john as some one that loves that kind of stuff it is a top job . i drive at the moment a 92 hilux with a supercharged V6 plus other mods but am looking to upgrade to aprox 2000-2002 patrol but am looking to more hp but diesel is my way of thinking at the moment but trying to find edapters are the first thing to work on

I am told the Duramax is becoming a more common conversion if you were wanting to stay with the diesel.
Contact Bullet diesel in Yatala and they might be able to point you in the direction of someone local that can help you out.
