G'day, do a forum search for Project Toni, a toyota turbo diesel engine and auto into Patrol. Cheers, John

He was here at Mt Bundy earlier this year , it's an immaculate conversion, very well done.

Another petrol conversion gaining some popularity is to the current Ford 4.0L inline 6. They are cheap, plentiful, torquey, tough and come in several variants including gas and ballistic turbo. They are also fairly easy to set up with their factory harness and ECU.

I am told the Duramax is becoming a more common conversion if you were wanting to stay with the diesel.
Contact Bullet diesel in Yatala and they might be able to point you in the direction of someone local that can help you out.

Good luck with it all
