Yes you can and if you ask a scotch acholic like myself - 2 down already tonight. Almost every night (bloody computers). You can taste the difference and the best all round scotch to serve if you can is a Dimple or Chivas Regal (spelling) - I cannot afford them. Anyway I am sure you will get heaps of answers on this one. Myself I tend to stay away from JW. I do not really like it that much and would gladly drink a Black Douglas or Grants in preference to Red Label. Regards

Ah - I have had two x two fingers on ice already cannot read now. Give the mid range to ensure that you are given a similar brew when you go visiting. Give cheap get cheap is my moto.Regards

An old builder mate of mine was partial to the odd scotch and offered me this sage advice ...... No matter the brand, as long as it's bottled in Scotland.

Cheers ....... hicYou're only as old as she feels

And is it Whisky or Whiskey, and of cause it has to be double malt.

Across the creek you cannot get better than Bushmills.

I'm with you on that score .... prefer a drop of the Irish. But would rather Jameson over Bushmills, even though it's a tad cheaper.

Can't go past that peaty taste. You're only as old as she feels

Although a tad off subject, Jameson 1780 Reserve with Dulhunty River water _IS_ heaven.

Heres a thought...
1) Buy a good bottle..(say Chivas)
2) Drink 3/4's of it yourself
3)Top it up almost full with McCheapo scotch
4)Keep this bottle for M.I.L visits... make sure she see's you pouring her the "finest" whiskey kept "especially for her".... LOL
Just my opinion
Cheers
