I think Sir Kev and his band of helpers should take a lot of the credit there. I wonder how many shoes he wore out doing the rounds with the raffle tickets. A really big effort. Cheers,Bob

Bob,

There was a method to my madness ;)

It is also a great way to meet all the attendee's and actually remember their names ;)

I think I freaked Andrew out as I knew his name but we hadn't actually been introduced hehehehehe

Cheers Kev

Sorry we couldn't make it as we were in Melbourne picking up our new caravan. At the moment we are at Pamamaroo Lake listening to the rain, thunder and lightning. Congrats to everyone raising a great amount for Penrose Park. Hopefully catch everyone up next year.

Who needs my Account details to deposit funds for a Raffle Ticket hehehehehe

Lookin forward to selling some more ;)

Great to see the 2009 National Gathering Fundraising total was challenged but not quite as much :( 2009 total was $3927.95

Good to see that we can contrubute back into the communities that we visit at these annual Gatherings :)

Cheers Kev

As a side note, it's a pity the miners union don't get behind the park like they used to yrs ago when it was 1st developed ( excuse my ignorance if they still do) ..

Would be good to see it like it was in the glory days!!

Gronk, the mines had 2 men out there full time as far as I know up until the 80's, and also most unionists contributed some out of their pay for the upkeep.

But now the mines are more focused on their shareholders now than the community.
I believe some of the hospital staff still contribute some of their salary to the park evn now.
Hope you enjoyed your stay there.

cheers

I contribute a small amount every pay to the upkeep of penrose park. When the park was going bad a few years ago many of the blokes from Perilya started getting money taken from their pay but im not sure how many still do.
