G'day forumites,
We currently have the standard 2 din setup that Toyota throw in when you buy their 200series cruiser, but its use by date is up.
I have searched this site and LCOOL and am more confused than ever.
We looked at VMS, Alpine, Pioneer, the chinese import from Brashes, Clarion etc..head is spinninng!!
Has anyone fitted a new system with CD/DVD player, mp3, nav mapping, gps, rear vision camera access etc etc with rear headreast screens and remote head phones so the kids can watch a movie whilst we listen to some tunes whilst travelling and they are happy with, and why?
Any and all help would be appreciated.
Cheers
Dave.

I installed a Kenwood model with Garmin mapping. It controls my iPod and my iPhone connects through bluetooth. All works
well. I haven't looked at the other functions you mentioned.
It was installed by Brian at Autotainment near the casino in
Perth. He also sells this one:
200 series in dash setup.

Hi Dave.
Like GB, I've also had Brian fron Autotainment install my unit. Brian is very helpful. The unit is of the same functionality as the VMS system (I believe they're produced by the same factory) but it has better OziEx mapping capacity and is heaps (and I mean heaps) cheaper. It can handle everything you've listed I think (i don't have the rear hrests, but I do have the rear camera).
Cheers.

I have had a Polaris in my 200 for over 3 years now. It is a radio/bluetooth phone/Ipod controller/reverse camera/DVD/GPS (Ozi & Igo8)... and has performed
well for the price. I too looked at the VMS, Alpine, etc... units and am happy enough with my decision. If buying again, would go the Brash Imports unit as its half the price with the same/better features.
Cheers
Captain

I have a $600 Entertainment unit from a mob called DigOptions who sell on Ebay.
Don't be put off by the price because it has ALL the features you mentioned and the backup advice from the guy (Matt) who distributes them is the best you will find anywhere. You can also wire in a second camera for the van (he sells them too).
His email is - digoptions@gmail.com. There are a lot of comments and advice on Pradopoint.
A quick email will find out all the info you need and whether he has a unit to suit the LC. Toyota seem to have a standard dash so chances are good.
The Pradopoint link is here -
In Dash Entertainment Unit
Worth a look as he lists all the vehicles he
services, accessories etc etc.
Bill
No link to the business etc; just a happy customer.
