Lots of top spots on Yorke I would suggest Travel down one side & back up the other. Point Turton is a lovely spot with the Caravan Park just up from the Jetty. Marion Bay & Innes National Park is well worth a look & has various camping spots one of which is Pondalowie Bay which looked like a nice spot.
Free camp spots check the link below which is a spot we came across just south of Port Victoria.

There are a number of free camp areas down the West side of the peninsula.
If you like smoked fish call into the Inland Sea Restaurant just out of Warooka.

Un fortunatly the district council has its hand out, no free sites $7 per nite or $28.50 per week. Best places in the southern part where i live is Troubridge hill, Mozzie Flat, Kemp Bay, Foul bay, Gleesons landing, Gravel bay, Burners beach. There is good free maps avalable around the town of SYP with these sites marked.

we had a fantastic waterfront site at Stansbury - cleanest loos and showers we've seen - fantastic fishing amd beach right outside the caravan - then another good site at Port Broughton - more great fishing - easy for daytripping all over the penninsula

If you check the weather you could be on the right side of the Peninsula for fishing at the right time eg; if its a west wind the Adelaide side will have better water conditions especially in close an east wind its better on the W.A side and across the bottom a northerly , lots of the coastal towns have jetties and in most parts fishing is pretty good. There's good surf around Pondalowie Bay inside the Innes National Park , Stenhouse Bay ( Chinamans ) and around Daly Heads and Gleesons Landing, the National Park has various Camping grounds , lots of emus , kangaroos . Not sure if theres too much free camping , when we were teenagers around Daly Heads and Gleesons Landing were free , not as much shelter as far as trees there though i'd try try National Park . Otherwise the Caravan Parks . Have a good trip .

Thank you everyone for the valuable info. Can someone inform if the ferry from Wallaroo still runs to the Eyre Peninsula. The website says it has been halted until the arrival of a new ferry that is currently being constructed.

Make sure you visit Coobowie Caravan Park, simple but nice....friendly people and good place to setup as it is central to everything on the Yorke.
