Ring Autron an aussie company, I am sure they make one that will fit the 4.2

Had a Autron fitted to the Troopy 6 years ago - the best accessory I have and it still works perfectly. Before I bought it, I had seen a couple of the cheapie cruise control systems that had given up the ghost which is why I bought a more expensive unit to get the reliability.

The Autron cruise control actually keeps closer to the set speed than the cruise control as standard in our Rangie which could get you a ticket if you were not careful, it varied so much.

Would I buy another Autron if I needed one, YES

I have a 2005 Ute 4.2 with large exhaust, gas and turbo upgrade. It has a Command cruise control. I choose not to bother using it because of the quite noticeable increase in fuel usage. The cruise cointrol applies power at the crest of a hill then backs the power off on the way down the hill so as not to exceed the speed limit and then applies power agian to get the vehicle over the crest of the hill even on rollling hills. Nice to drive with cruise control but the user pays at the bowser for the luxury
I have not had any other experience with other cruise control systems.

G'day, had cruise on my Patrol ute, Autron unit, was brilliant. So much more comfortable cruising. Give them a ring, they will be able to put you in touch with a local dealer. Unit looks like a factory one. Cheers. John

Hi, I had an autron in my 2005 patrol and yes they are great, you can have a speed alert function, also 3 preset speeds that you can adjust yourself on the cruise control well, just ask for when ordering.
