Can't tell you much about their indash GPS but they changed their name in about 2000, they were originally Alberts Car Stereo.

We dealt with Alberts back in the 90's when they were the only main importer and distributor of many high end car audio components like Rockford Fosgate, Streetwires, Dynamat plus many more.

They were also one of the first companies who built high end competition and demo sound off cars.

So if the past is anything to go by; they are good people to deal with and have a strong reputation of quality work and components.

Hi
I have been TRYING to have communications with Brian Johnson at this company as I was/am very interested in buying a unit for my 200 series.
The first email took a full two weeks to answer & I'm still waiting for a reply to the second email.....if they treat you like this before you buy product..... how will they treat you if your unlucky enough to have problems!!!!!!!
I'm now seriously looking at unit out of Melbourne at a fraction of the price with all the same features google brashimports

I have the Polaris indash unit for my GPS/DVD/Radio/Ipod/Bluetooth etc... for the last 3 years and it has been great. However, if I was to buy again I would go the Brash Imports unit. Its a later version of the Polaris but with better street navigation program (uses Igo8) and is less than half the price at around $700.

Cheers

G'day there Captain.

I've been looking at the Brash unit for the 79 series. I see that they come complete with Ozi and a set of Natmaps. Are you aware if you can upload or access Hema maps via USB or even load them to the unit? I'm not an Ozi user although I do hope to change that in the near future. Brash was not overly knowledgable in regards to the Ozi program.

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers Mick

Hi Mick,

If you mean the Hema mapset, then yes. Ozi can use almost any version of a "scanned" paper map and are very versatile. Just need the calibration fille which I believe comes with the Hema mapset - but others more knowledgable in Ozi with Hema will hopefully confirm that. While I use Ozi, I am not a "power user" :)

I often add maps to Ozi, simply drop it in the maps sub-folder and select the file/s to be used. Is easy once you get the hang of it. While my Polaris is limited to a 4gb SD card, I believe the Brash unit can handle a 32Gb, more than enough for all of AUS.

Not sure if you can access addiitonal maps via the USB connection as I believe the GPS is on a seperate motherboard to the other functions. The USB is more for music/video replay.

Cheers

Captain

Thanks Captain. Yes my query was more about getting the Hema maps into the Brash unit as an compliment or alternative to the Natmaps. Surely if they can get the 250K maps in there, they must be able to load up the Hemas. I'll fire one of to "The Explorer". He's the whiz with Ozi and may know if/how it would be possible.

Thanks again.
