Any thoughts on these tyres for a prado. I have to replace tyres and the Michelin's get bigger raps than coopers or bfg'S. I have checked out all forums but still a bit undecided.
Most work is towing on blacktop but we still do a bit of 4wding.in the bush and sand.

Hi Wandy

I just put a set of the Michelin LTX A/T 2 285/75R/16 on my 100 Series L/C
Haven't done more than 100k on them so too soon to tell. Like you most of my driving is on Blacktop and about 25% on gravel so they should be ideal.

I have a spare set of Toyo M/T's on steel rims when we go bush.

I got mine from TireRack at $227.00 each with a $70 Michelin Rebate and had a friend bring them over in a container.

Regards

Rob.

Hi Wandy

Ive got the Mickey Thompson ATZ and ive done about 25k with them. Still going great. About half that would be towing on the Blacktop, with some sand and gravel thrown in. An expensive tyre but going by the way its wearing i estimate i should get around 80k out of them.

hey

not sure about 4 or 5, they are LT's if that helps. Ive got a landcruiser sahara 100td and i cant really even hear them. Give em a go in my opinion they are as good as cooper atr's which i had previously and got over 80k out of those as well.

hi wandy
the michy's are a good tyre
my mate who is a registered builder uses them all the time on
his previous ford courier and now on his 2009 ranger with the courier/ ranger carrying work tools and towing a 2 tonne work trailer as well on blacktop daily they wear well
michelin also own and make the mighty bfg;s as well which i use and have excellent results over many years of use including the big lap towing a van
cheers

Hi Wandy

I have Michelin A/T on the work ute (Ranger) from new, and now has 67000 Km, and expect another 20 to 25000 Km before I have to replace.

Cheers Robert

Thanks to al for your ideas and help. I have bought the tyres today and done about 200klm and already I am happy. They are very quiet on the black top. Next week will see them tested off road and on the sand.
