Just had the Triton lifted 2 inches, It was done by after market 4wd
shop. After taking it for a test drive the ATSC started to come on, and after awhile it was on nearly all the time. This affected the motor management, and at one stage would only do 900 rpm. After turning it off and restarting it it went back to normal but with restricted power. After taking it to a dealer and hooked up his computer, was told that you have to have the ATSC readjusted. After readjusting everything is fine. So just a heads up on new cars with ATSC, if you do a 2inch lift go back to the dealer and have it adjusted.

Gday
I have looked it up and I think there might be a typo could be ASC " active steering control ". I down loaded the Triton information from Mitsubishi.
I have been wrong before and admit to my fallibility. I am not a woman there for I am wrong all the time .

You win the 60,000 $ question cookie 1. That is exactly what it is, sorry i didn't put it in in the first place. I was told by Mitsubishi that if you even changing the shocks you have to have it done.

Thanks Andy, that makes it all a lot clearer.

I'll bite then.
What is Active Steering Control?
Is it something you turn on when you do not have a designated driver?

Thanks Muzbry, I'll wait by the mailbox for your cheque for $60.00 and again for the cheque for $59,940.00 from Andy's Adventures. I can then afford to go on a nice long holiday in my non ATSC vehicle - Anti Traction & Skid Control 4WD.
All in good humour
Cheers

It helps with cornering on wet and dirt roads, and when you have too much body roll. If one wheel loses traction then the brake is applied until traction is gained again. It will not operate in 4wd. New cars today are electronic nightmares.

Next we will get a remote controller with new cars so that you can sit in the back seats with the DVD screen. Nah!! Takes all the fun out of driving.
Ours would be off most of the time we are in the bush and when on good roads it would be a waste of money.

Good to Know !
Its getting worse as
well Andy with many new cars having Electronic Stability Control also (ESC - thought I'd save Muz from having to figure this one out).
This is adding another level of complexity to even changing wheel sizes , we have recently gotten away with a 40mm lift on an 2008 R51 pathfinder , so they don't yet need it.
The ability to do these things without hassle was one of many little less obvious reasons I recently went with a 2010 4800 GU patrol.

Gday Robin
Mine has all of the above and work in mysterious ways . MNASTC (manual non active traction control ) and MSC (manual stability control) .
I hope it is now clear to all.
