Gday all,
I have just returned from a couple of nights fishing with my son on the Baffle
Creek. Normally stay at Baffle Bobs simply because it is convenient. I know many of you have, over the years, given up on the place because of the individual who was running the place.
Well I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the caravan
park now has new owners. Very nice couple who are more than happy to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. I managed to leave behind one of the bungs for the boat - no trouble she says when I asked if they had any in the
shop. Hubby is in town (
Bundaberg), let me call him and get him to pick some up for you
Now that is what I call a good service.
For those of you who have given up on going their I do encourage you to try again.
I dont have any association with the new owners or the
park - Just passing on the good news.
Cheers Lew

They would need to do a hell of a lot of repairs to their on-site vans. They are attrocious. Good ground for
camping though.

As I said, new owners trying very hard. What they need now is people
camping at the
park so they have the cash flow to do all the work that needs to be done. I did not inquire as to what work had been completed but the
park is a much cleaner place than it ever was before. I also noted that the first cabin , closest to the road to the
boat ramp, has had work started on it so I would think that, with time and enough patronage, we will see much improvement in the cabins and on site vans.
As to the fish. No fish and no crabs. This was my first visit since the flooding and the whole river system has changed. Deep holes are now a couple of meters deep at high tide and sand banks in
places they never where. The wind was blowing a gale and the
water had a very fine slimy weed in it but once the winds drop I will be back for another try.
