With your van, you should have a Jayco caravan owners manual which should contain a wiring diagram........tried to find
mine and I have put it in a safe place so that even I cannot locate it right at this moment....lol......but in your van there should be a 2 gang switch.... 1 for the pump and 1 for the battery.
I assume the battery will go under the bed ( like
mine used to) and so there should be a lead there that connects to your battery...it may have a fuse as
well....but anyway there will be a fuse on the charger to cover the battery.
Now basically the circuit works like this....there is a separate lead that comes from your car that feeds directly to the charger and enters the charger via another fuse.
The charger is also connected to the 240 vac supply when the van is plugged in....say at a caravan
park.
The charger is also connected to your battery.
Now when there is NO 240vac ( ie when you are driving) the car 12vdc will be able to through the charger and go directly to the battery and also at the same time go to the fridge as
well and so the fridge will run if it is selected to run on 12 volt.
When you are parked at the caravan
park AND plugged into the 240 vac supply...the charger will detect this and will switch to charge mode and charge your battery and supply 12 vdc to your van as
well ( ie lights) BUT not your fridge.
You have to select gas or 240vac if you want to run the fridge.
So now how do you connect your anderson plug.......all negatives or black wires are connected together.....however the red or positive wire has to be connected to that feed in wire that goes to the charger and to the fridge and usually it is wired into the 7 pin plug....at least
mine was......you have to find it.....isolate it and reconnect it to your anderson plug.
To find the lead in wire, work through the connections in your trailer plug....check a 7 pin trailer plug wiring diagram.
Confused....let me know if you need more help.

OOPS forgot to mention that Jayco's follow USA wiring which can be any colour ie black could be positive and white could be negative.......you need to use a multimeter to check it out.
If you pull any covers off to check wiring make sure that the 240vac is NOT connected......unplug it.

Found my wiring manual.....on my Jayco........white is negative.....black is positive.
black or positive was wired to pin 2....normally used for reversing lights.
white or negative was wired to pin 3....earth return.
Remember this is on MY van....yours may be different.
