Can anyone tell me what the conditions would be like for
camping at the Murray around Wemen/Hattah in late November? Thinking of taking the family.

Was there a month ago and the river is still on the rise. The Kylkyne River Road is cut only a few kilometres south of Colignan. We couldn't make it into the river itself and had to
camp by one of the creeks. It will be higher by now as the snow melt and recent rains add
water to the system. I'd say that the Chalka will be
well and truly full at the Lake Kramen end of the track.
Probably great
camping in at the Hattah lakes as they will be full.
You may have better luck on the NSW side in the Murray Cliffs State
Park or in off the Tarpaulin Mail Route.
Cheers
Mick

Hi Biggy,
We've just returned from Hattah this week and we had access to the river all the way from
the entrance to the
park, near the Boiler up to Fireman's Bend. There is a lot of casual
water about the place but we had no problem with any tracks. Yes some are closed but access to the river is plentiful. I would think late November would be great.
