It looks like our travel companions will have had to pull out of our trip of a lifetime, but we are still committed to go. We are looking for anyone who may be interested in doing all or part of our trip with us.
Aprox dates
April 14 to 16
Windorah to Innaminka and
the Dig Tree via Arrabury Road
16 to 18 April Innaminka to Camerons Corner via
Bore Track
19 to 21 April Stzeleki to Maree
22 April MAree to Lake Eyre
24 April Lake Eyre to
Coober Pedy Oodnadatta Track
25 April - 27 April
Coober Pedy to
Kulgera via
Oodnadatta track
28 April- 30 April
Kulgera to Finke to
Chambers Pillar
30 April to 3 April
Chambers Pillar to
Dalhousie Springs
5 April to 10 April Simpson via French Line,
Rig Road, Knols track etc to
Birdsville
As ever desert traveller would know, dates are flexible, but they are there to give you some idea of timing should you wish to just do part/s of the trip.
We are husband and wife, no kids, 1990 Range Rover, trip co-ordinator for a 4wd club.

Wish we could come with you but have already made arrangements to be in the Simpson during that time so may see you there. We will be the Troopy pop-top camper with 9 Landrovers. Could be quite a trip for us in our Jappa with 9 Landrovers - hope we don't need a tow from a Landrover. Mind you, we can setup
camp in 2 minutes, they all have to put tents up. Who will be having gin/beer time first.

It would be great to catch up with you all somewhere out there. When do you plan to be crossing the Simpson and from which direction?

Crossing from
Birdsville, leaving around the 28 April, arriving Mt Dare 1 may, back in
Birdsville on the 6 May. Going via QAA, Knolles, WAA, Dailhousie etc to Mt Dare.
Coming back via French line, Erabena, Rig, Lone Gum, Poolawana, Rig,
Warburton,
Birdsville track.
We will be with a club and will be our first real desert trip (unless we something between now and then as we are taking the long way from
Brisbane to
Melbourne and return. leaving in a week. Probably just doing the
Mitchell highway this time.

We will be in a green 1990 RR with alloy roof rack and alloy bullbar.

No we live in Townsville QLD.
Still in this day and age of instant communication, shouldn't be a problem where prosective travellers live.
