Just upgraded from a camper trailer to a caravan and now need to put the tinnie on the roof of the 2005 toyota prado grande 120. Went to the
shop to enquire about the rola rack $2,500 installed but the guy gave me a 20min lecture, felt like a criminal. My tinnie is 3.5m Taipan Ally Craft and 60kgs, asked if this was at the weighbridge? then told me it would probably be over and bigger and therefore too heavy and big.
Contacted boatloader WA and they were great but their remote model is $4,500 delivered (not installed) I only drive from Bris to Daly and back once a year, is it worth paying $4,500? any suggestions....I used to push it onto the camper trailer, but getting too old for that...

I have one of the boat loaders from
perth. Have had it for over 3 years and would not be without it [my tinnie weighs 80kg]. It is presently on a 100 series but have just bought a landcruiser cab chassis and the loader will be fitted to our camper box on the tray.I have the one that runs off a battery drill and converted a 12v dewalt to run from my anderson plug.As
well the loader makes an awesome roof rack although I rarely use it as such.

I have the Auto Loader as
well, its now 5 years old and has to be one of the best auto boat loaders around. I also use a Dewalt off the anderson plug.

Hi guys,
We are purchasing the boat loader next week in
Perth also a 3.85 Qintex tinny, 15hp Yamaha outboard motor and a 34kg light weight trailer.
So we are hoping this all works out. I've spoken to heaps of guys that I've seen with this system and they say it's the best.
All these are on the L/Cruiser (boatloader) and on the caravan at the front will be the outboard motor and the trailer at the rear of the caravan.
I've been working hard at moving batteries to balance the weight and we will come in around the correct caravan ATM on our van. So it's all go this friday and next Monday are the pick-up days.
When it's all done I will forward on some photo's
See ya
Mick

looking at the lazy loader rather than the boatloader, can transfer to other vehicles and easy to remove and still have roof racks, $1,000 cheaper but not as good looking, but more practical for me as I only use it once a year up the daly....
Thanks

Hi Scotty,
Mate we have just purchase a boat loader from C/B/Loaders in
Perth as we have just arrive after travelling down west WA from the
Gold Coast. We have been talking to Diane from C/B/loaders all the way down the west about different things that we required as they are great to deal with and boy are we happy.
Pick-up the laoder push button controls and a Quintrex 3.85 second-hand they had for sale, also a new Yamaha 15hp long shaft motor. Now Diane did all the ordering and we just arrive at the workshop and there son Cameron install the laoder and walked us through the process.
Now, we all so pick-up a mangrove jack trailer Magnificent 34kgs all up Jill and Gavin are really lovely guys and Jill also register the trailer for us.
So now we are
camp in a caravan park in
Busselton WA and I've adding lights, a 6 switch control panel and this all fits into a power box from Jaycar.
Scotty, we looked at many number of different opinions and if you are prepared to send the money you will not be disappointed as this system is the best my a mile.
Hope this helps and most times you get what you pay for??????
If you need any info or photo's give me ring 0412160547

Mich,
Its not the money as in the long term it is not an issue, I am aware that the boatloader is a better product but it is NOT as versatile as the lasyloader (for my set of circumstances).
I only use the boatloader for 6 weeks a year when I travel from
Brisbane to the Daly and the rest of the year I can remove it from the vehicle with ease and still have a three bar roof rack.
With the boatloader when i remove it i have six lugs!
What vehicle have you got?
regards
Scotty

Hi Scotty,
We have a 100 series L/C and I had 3 support bars across the roof also.
Yes your right 3 stainless steel brackets each side once the loader is remove and when we arrive
home next May I will remove the B/Loader and attach the 3 support bars to the S/S/Brackets.
Scotty the B/Loader isn't that heavy mate.
See ya

Mick,
Hear what your saying, the only thing I have against the lazy loader is the frame as it is 1700 x 2400 its like a double bed on top of the 4wd, the boatloader frame is much smaller with each of the three cross racks and rollers protruding looks much less obtrusive if you get what i mean, especially after the boat is unloaded.
