HEMA HN5i - Recently purchased a Hema Navigator, to begin with it was horrendous, in iGo Street mode it never knew where it was, could not identify roads, could not be identified on either pc (Windows 7 or XP Pro), I spoke to Hema who took it back and did their thing, now I love it, iGo, as a street directory is pretty average compared to other GPS software but in fairness, it was not purchased for that feature.

It is a fact of life that sometimes things don't always work, what is important is how the problem is managed to the buyers satisfaction and FULL MARKS to Hema, they have one very satisfied customer.

Can I ask how the screen performs in car during daylight. I've been on a quest to find a 6'' or 7'' screen that is readable during the day with no luck.
Is your unit a 5'' screen? If so does it perform ok?
Thanks

Workhorse - I have a HN5 (5 inch screen) and mount is on the windscreen close up to the driver's side A pillar. I wear glasses full time and have absolutely no difficulty reading the screen in all kinds of light. Like all LED screens if the sun is beaming directly on the screen you will struggle but that has never happened to me and frankly I can't see a situation where it ever will. I wen down this path because I simply do not like trying to read centre dash mounted screens....coming off road ahead visual down to the centre dash....well my eyes aren't as young as they once were and it takes too long to refocus properly. With the A pillar mounting the GPS screen is always in line of sight so don't have this problem.

Hi, I have a Hema sunshade and that works a treat, just have to be careful where you mount the Hema HN5i on a 100 Series or you give the shade a left hook every time you turn a corner ha haa.. Without the shade, the 5" screen is not that crash hot as compared to the Garmin. End of teh day, buy the HN5i + Sunshade and nothing will stop you, PS: I'm in my 50's and wear specs for reading but see the Hema fine including when it automatically goes into "night screen" after dark - no brilliant lighs burning holes in your retina with this one!
Regards
Mick
