2013 ?? Up thataway its not very prudent to just throw the old crab pots in from the riverbank , big green lizards just love people standing in secluded areas ,,,,,,

Lots of good
places to
camp on the way up. The annie river is good crabbing ( near musgrave), but you need to be very aware of the crocs all the way from Bloomfield up.
Mapoon and
Weipa are good crabbing, but you need a tinnie. Also you can throw ya pots off the bank at the Anan in
Cooktown. Cheers mary and hans

Mate if you're game, we saw a local wading in the water off Loyalty Beach one night with a flashlight and a spear.
If he saw a croc he would jab the spear towards it and stamp his feet and with a loud Yee Haa the croc was gone, we only saw small crocs but it was heart in mouth stuff.
You could walk out to the rocks at low tide and pick the pots up on the next low if you're not keen on using a spear.
Love the laid back attitude of the TI people.
Regards
Geoff
